Afterword
A chastity-reversal world… what a dream come true…
Hello, my name is Santou Koutarou. Thank you so much for reading this book.
Did you enjoy this daily life with heroines who are cute, charming, and just a little bit heavy-handed with their affection?
About half a year ago, when I had my first meeting with my editor, Mr. S, with whom I’ve worked side-by-side to get this book published, the first thing I said was,
“Are you serious?”
I mean… isn’t it? To think of publishing a work in a niche genre like a chastity-reversal world under the prestigious Dengeki Bunko label, I couldn’t believe he was in his right mind. In fact, when I first received the email about it, I really couldn’t believe my eyes.
But as talks progressed, it became clear that my editor Mr. S and everyone else in the editorial department were completely serious. And every time I felt that passion, it was a half-year where I felt strongly that I had to do my best as well.
Now, when I first started writing this work as a web novel, it was with the complete do-it-yourself spirit of, “There aren’t enough chastity-reversal novels like this, so I’ll write my own.” Some of you may not be familiar with it, but there are many works in this genre posted online. If this work has sparked your interest in the “chastity-reversal” genre, you might enjoy searching for a work that suits your tastes. Please, step into the rabbit hole.
Personally, the most difficult part of getting this book published was deciding on the title. The direct word “chastity” might be off-putting to some readers. But on the other hand, not mentioning the genre at all would make it difficult to imagine what the work is about… After a lot of trial and error, we settled on this title. I would be happy if it’s a title that is easy for those who have been reading since the web novel days to recognize, and also easy for new readers to pick up.
Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude once more.
To my editor, Mr. S, who passionately championed the idea of publishing this work, and to everyone in the editorial department who accepted it and worked to make it even better. Thank you so much.
And to jimmy-sama, who drew the most wonderfully fantastic illustrations. My heartfelt thanks. Especially the last one of Mizuho! It’s too good! Genius! The expression, a mix of happiness and sadness, is just too perfect (I’ll stop there).
And above all, thank you to everyone who picked up this book. I sincerely hope to see you all again in volume 2. Until then!
While desperately moving hands that are on the verge of tendonitis from playing too much mahjong.
