Chapter 17: Using Pure Boy’s Urine to Break the Formation

“Yo-ho, I’ve been tricked.”

Song Zhen set the man she had been carrying on her shoulder down onto the ground. Sure enough, his face was pale and dark, completely drained of any living energy.

But just a moment ago in the room, he had not looked like this. He had been pale, yes, but still alive.

“Once my formation activates, all of you will become my nourishment! Hahaha!”

The red-clothed woman no longer tried to hide her intentions.

The truth was now obvious: the village chief had been deceived by this female ghost. His son had likely been dead long ago.

The chief now realized it too. He looked at his son’s lifeless body on the ground, then at the villagers who gazed at him with disappointment, and his mind completely collapsed.

“AAAA! I’ll kill you! You promised to save my son, and you lied!”

The chief lunged at the ghost. The ghost in red hadn’t expected him to lose his mind now, and he actually managed to land a few punches.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Song Zhen called her fellow disciples together to study the formation.

An older senior brother hesitated.

“I actually saw this formation in an old tome, breaking it isn’t that difficult—you just need to use an object of “Utmost Yang Energy” at the eight points of the formation, like chicken blood or something.”

______

TL Note : “Utmost Yang Energy” “至阳之物”

In Chinese philosophy, the universe is made up of Yin and Yang energy.

Yin (阴): Passive, cold, dark, feminine

Yang (阳): Active, hot, bright, masculine, upward

______

The female ghost’s cultivation was higher than theirs—they definitely couldn’t defeat her in a fight. And right now, being trapped inside the formation, there was no way to escape.

Thinking of objects with extreme Yang Energy, Song Zhen’s first thought was the “pure boy’s urine”.

______

TL Note : “pure boy’s urine” “童子尿”

In Chinese philosophy, the bodily fluids of pure or virgin young individuals were sometimes believed to carry special spiritual or Yang energy.

______

She squinted at the senior brothers, her expression both mysterious and lewd.

“Pure boy’s urine should count as an object of utmost yang, right? I wonder if any of you would be willing to contribute a little…”

The senior brothers widened their eyes and stared at her: Are you serious?

Song Zhen’s expression left no doubt: she was serious.

Technically, chicken blood would work, but there were no chickens here.

The younger disciples, who had entered the sect later, already started thinking about the awkwardness of the situation.

“It could work, but we’re all grown men. Will this urine even help?”

“And in front of all these people, I just… can’t do it.”

Their pride was at stake. Even if they won, they wouldn’t be able to admit how they won.

Meanwhile, the village chief was barely holding on. He was just a mortal, and the ghost quickly overpowered him.

Seeing the weakened chief, the ghost sneered and threw him aside.

“You overestimate yourself. If you weren’t greedy, you wouldn’t have fallen for my trick. Your son’s body was beyond saving. All the suffering he endured is your sin. A child like him is unlucky enough to have a father like you.”

The chief, already despairing, coughed up blood at her words. The trapped villagers were furious, shouting curses at the chief and his family history.

“You ruined us, and yet you were our village chief! We really chose blindly!”

“If I die, I’ll haunt you even as a ghost!”

“You’re not human! You hurt us and our children… how could you?”

Hearing these accusations, the chief lay on the ground, silently crying. True regret hit him—he truly regretted everything.

The chaos didn’t affect Song Zhen and her team. They focused on figuring out the method to break the formation.

“Sometimes, you have to sacrifice a little for survival,” Song Zhen said.

“Don’t worry, what happens today stays between us.” She raised three fingers to vow, her gaze determined.

The senior brothers fell silent. Pride or life? A truly difficult choice.

While no one was paying attention, two senior disciples quietly moved among the villagers and scooped up a few children.

Senior Sister 1 said, “I really don’t understand what they’re arguing about—don’t we already have ready-made child’s urine?”

Senior sister 2 replied, “I guess that’s just their idea of fun. Sword cultivators aren’t exactly known for their brains—it’s nothing new.”

Senior Sister 1 shot back, “Don’t say that! We’re sword cultivators too, and we’re very clever.”

Song Zhen watched as the two senior sisters soothed the children and got them to urinate, then quickly sprinkled the child’s urine across the eight points of the formation.

While the others were still arguing, the task had already been completed.

Finally, one senior brother stepped forward. “I’ll do it! What’s pride compared to life? Besides, I won’t have to go fully naked—if I turn my back, you won’t see anything, right?”

His words sounded heroic and selfless, as if he were marching to his death.

Song Zhen poked him and whispered, “Senior Brother, you don’t need to do anything. The formation’s already broken—two of the senior sisters just borrowed a couple of kids to break it.”

Everyone: ??? You can do it like that?!

Meanwhile, the two senior sisters were fiercely confronting the raging female ghost. They fought while yelling at Song Zhen and the others:

“What are you still standing there for? Hurry and help!”

With the formation destroyed, they quickly began evacuating the villagers.

The female ghost had been enjoying the villagers’ curses toward the chief, but in an instant, her plan was ruined.

No one paid attention to the village chief lying on the ground, but the villagers moved his son’s corpse out of the way. Regardless of the father’s actions, the boy had been innocent and unfortunate.

The female ghost’s claw swiped through the air, horrifying and deadly. “I will kill you all!”

She had worked hard to set up the formation. It was almost perfect—just a little longer, and she could have absorbed the villagers’ souls to increase her cultivation. But everything had been destroyed in an instant.

Seeing the ghost open her mouth wide, Song Zhen instinctively thrust her sword in.

The female ghost retched, “Ugh!”

The two senior sisters looked on: …Are you trying to be funny?

Though a bit crude, this tactic actually worked. The ghost probably hadn’t expected Song Zhen to pull this move, and she actually revealed a flaw.

Song Zhen occasionally helped the senior sisters block attacks, or jabbed the ghost in other sensitive spots.

The ghost shouted angrily:

“Are you really a righteous disciple?! Who uses a sword to poke someone’s butt?!”

Thankfully, she was already dead—otherwise, that last strike would have been deadly.

And why was this girl so fast? Her cultivation wasn’t high, yet her speed was insane. The ghost couldn’t touch her at all.

Song Zhen said, “I am a righteous disciple. Isn’t my aura obvious enough?”

Feeling another jab, the ghost was completely dumbfounded.

What aura? A…perverted aura?

By sheer audacity alone, Song Zhen managed to draw all of the ghost’s attacks onto herself.
