It’s not like I can’t continue staying as a student, while also investigating the truth of the decline.

if behind that event was demons and not empire i would say that copypast of strongest sage .
It seems the author has given up on him and Lara. A quick snogging session in the closet and thats that. I feel its missed potential as he himself admitted he lacked social interaction skills in his past life. A budding romance coulda helped him explore that in his new life. But no one interaction then hes back to treating her like a student and looking to ditch her to go investigate the empire…
