Chapter 42 – We Came Across Traps
“I wonder why…I feel kind of lightheaded here…”
As soon as we reached the lower layer, Lara exclaimed.
She looks kind of pale.
“Hmm, is that so? The reason you’re feeling that way might be due to the magic elements being thicker here than the upper layer”
“Does it not affect you, Kurt?”
“I know how thick the magic elements are, but that won’t be enough to make me feel sick”
For them who have only reached the third layer in the <Treasure Labyrinth>, the magic elements here can be rather strong.
But in my case, in a thousand years ago, I have also experienced the magic elements that could cause a person without any barrier in place to lose consciousness if they were to inhale it.
Compared to that, this doesn’t seem like a big deal.
“As I thought…this Payago cave seems to be a pretty good in quality dungeon”
We are gradually getting closer to the demon-type monster which was sensed by detection magic.
It feels like not many people has really stepped into this layer before.
There might even be some good items here.
Though, it doesn’t seem to be very promising after searching through the dungeon with detection magic.
As we continue to move on while defeating the monsters…
“Ah, Lara. Please stop for a second”
“Eh?”
I took hold of Lara’s shoulders and stopped her.
“Since the both of you have only been to the third layer in the <Treasure Labyrinth>, so it can’t be helped that you don’t know about it as there was no such thing there”
“Kurt. What are you saying suddenly?”
“This is also something to be aware of when capturing a dungeon. Take a good look”
After saying that, I picked up a nearby pebble, and threw it to the ground which doesn’t seem to have anything on it.
As soon as I did that….
“Whoa, there’s a hole!”
“Is that a trap?”
A large pitfall appeared on the ground immediately after the pebble hit it.
“That’s right, it’s a trap, and it’s common in dungeons with thick magic elements”
Basically, dungeons are filled with magic elements.
Those magic elements would re-construct the dungeon and create traps to deceive the adventurers.
According to one theory, a dungeon is said to have its own will and would prevent people from entering it. And that’s how the traps and monsters came to be.
As I was explaining it to them,
“I’ve never heard of that!”
“You may be right. Well, I’m not sure about that either. But I’d like to find out about it someday”
I will do whatever it takes in search of a strong guy.
To do so, it’s only natural that I would want to analyze the dungeon thoroughly.
“This pit…if Kurt hadn’t mentioned it, I’d be stuck in there”
“The pit runs pretty deep. If Kurt hadn’t told us…it would have been horrifying”
They were looking into the pit.
Incidentally, the pitfall trap can be relatively gentle.
Even if one does fall into it, as long as one can withstand the impact of the fall, then they will be fine.
“One also needs to be aware of traps when capturing the dungeons. Good thing this was just a pitfall. There’s also a trap that spray poison gas all over the place once you stepped into that layer”
“That would wipe us out!”
“W-we will have to be careful…”
They looked horrified.
Certainly, the major premise is not to be caught in a trap.
But if you do get caught in one, recovery will be important, too.
For example…the trap that spray poison gas can be dealt with either a dispel magic or a healing magic.
I’ll also have to teach them that from now on.
“Well then, pull yourself together and let’s move on”
“We have to be careful of the traps”
“This time, I will also do my best in detecting the traps”
As they were both re-motivated and ready to move on.
“Wait a minute”
““Eh?””
I get them to stop.
It seems that detecting traps is still difficult for them after all.
I walked ahead of them and deployed the magic formula for Rockfall.
I could have used the trap disarming magic too, but this was to show them the threat of a trap.
A large amount of stones fell on the ground ahead.
Then…one by one, hole began to appear on the ground where the stones had hit.
“Whoa!!”
“That’s a lot!”
At the sight of the pits being created one after another, they exclaimed in surprise.
“…Looks like this whole area is full of pitfall traps”
I stopped casting the Rockfall magic.
“Kurt noticed…?”
“Yeah. I know where the traps are in this entire layer”
As soon as we stepped into this layer, the traps were caught in the detection magic one after another.
The ground in front of us was full of pits, and it seemed like it would be hard to just walk through it.
But it is not impossible to get through it.
“Wow…there are skeletons under these pits”
“Are they the adventurers who have stepped into this layer?”
Lara looked into the pit, and Marise had a pale face.
“Yeah. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why this dungeon hasn’t been trodden all the way. Even if they managed to get here, they would still get caught in the traps and become a dead person”
The pits are fairly deep.
One or two bones could have been broken even if they had withstood the impact of the fall.
Once that happens, it will be extremely difficult to crawl up from there without using magic.
“I said I’d do my best in detecting the traps, but I couldn’t even find one…”
“Don’t worry about it at the moment. After all, they are known as traps for a reason, being unnoticeable and such. So it is inevitable that it’d be hard to get caught in detection magic”
Lara’s unfortunate magic power is particularly good at attacking, but it’s not good at this kind of detection magic.
But she seems to understand the fear of traps, and that alone is enough.
We moved on while trying not to fall into the pits.
“…At any rate, I’m going to need a mage who’s good at disarming traps”
Lara and Marise’s magic colors are suitable for combat, but not as a support-type.
I’m not sure about this world, but the people who uses magic to detect and disarm traps are normally called as ‘Thief’.
The green magic corresponds to it….
I haven’t seen anyone with it since I came to this world.
I’d love to recruit them if I ever find one.
“Well, leaving that aside…we’re getting close to it”
“Getting close to what?”
“The very reason we came here for…a strong monster”
Upon hearing that, their faces got tightened up.
“W-where is it?”
“The small room over there, and it’s aware of us. It might do something at the moment we enter the room…so be on your guard”
The monster is pretty good at concealing its presence, but as expected, I can tell once I get this close to it.
While being cautious, we entered the small room.

Chapter 41 – The Advice For Capturing Dungeons
After having noticed a more powerful monster lurking in the depths, we then dived deeper into the Payago cave.
“Since we’re here, let me give you a lecture on dungeon capture”
I say that to them as we walk.
“Dungeon capture…? Can’t we just do the same thing as we did in the <Treasure Labyrinth> at school?”
“Of course, the basics are the same. But until now, I’ve been working on improving the basic skills of you two. I’ve never properly taught you guys anything about dungeon capture”
In the future, we will be forming a party together to enter the <Treasure Labyrinth>.
But if I had to say, I would like to capture dungeons that are higher in rank.
So I think it will be worthwhile for me to teach them.
“Having said that, lesson number one. It’s about the division of roles. Well, this is a general one in battle…but in dungeons which are often long dives, it becomes even more important”
“Is it a swordsman fight with a sword, and a mage fight with their magic?”
“Lara. It’s not the right answer, but that’s what I’m trying to say”
As I have said many times before, it is ideal to fight with a combination of sword and magic.
1000 years ago, I didn’t make any friends, so I dived alone in dungeons.
That’s why it was necessary for me to be an all-rounder who could do everything.
But…if I were to form a party in this world, I’d want to distribute the burden.
It would also reduce the risk.
I think this will make it easier to capture dungeons.
“Sword and magic…don’t separate the two. But there must be someone who are better or worse at handling a sword or fighting with magic”
“In other words, be aware of own strengths and divide the roles. That’s what Kurt is trying to say, isn’t it?”
I nodded at Marise’s question.
“That’s it. Furthermore, the magic color can change the strengths and weaknesses of a person too”
“Aren’t the types of magic power just for determining who’s better?”
“Ah, hmm…that’s a false perception. I want you to forget about it”
For example, even if the white magic (called perfect magic in this world) is a disappointing magic color to me, but I think it is suitable for those who want to become a blacksmith.
The magic color does not determine the superiority or inferiority.
It’s just a matter of suitability by that.
“But I’ve never heard of that before? Which book was it written in?”
“I don’t think it’s written in any of the books”
In this world.
“If that’s the case…”
“Which is more reliable, a book written by some guy or something that I said?”
This time I asked a question.
In response to that, they only stayed silent.
“Good…let’s have a brief explanation on the magic color, shall we? First of all, Lara’s is red color…or rather, it’s called the unfortunate magic power, right?”
“Yeah! But I was taught that it’s not suitable for offensive magic…”
“As I said before, that’s not true. The unfortunate magic power, on the contrary, is better suited for offensive magic”
“When I remembered what Kurt had taught me, I started to feel the same too…”
“But on the other hand, it has a short range. It’s more of a close combat magic”
Just like how I’m good at combining physics and magic in a fight.
If it’s the unfortunate magic power, it can unleash powerful magic from close range.
So from now on, it might be better to teach them little by little about the barrier magic to fortify themselves.
“And Marise”
“Y, yes…”
Marise straightened herself.
She has a nervous look on her face, wondering what will be said.
“Marise’s is purple color…it’s called the inferior magic, right?”
“Yes”
“What have you heard about it?”
“They said it couldn’t unleash delicate magic, and I could only use dull magic that lacked stress…”
“What the heck is that?”
I almost burst out laughing for a second.
What is the delicate magic? I think that’s too vague.
And after all, based on my knowledge, Marise’s perception of it is wrong.
“The inferior magic power, contrary to the unfortunate magic power, has a long range”
“You mean I can unleash magic from a distance?”
“That’s right”
So it’s more about finding a distant target and taking the time to form the magic formula carefully.
And the vanguard will defend against the opponent’s attacks to some extent.
In that sense, one might need something like ‘delicacy’.
As I thought, the perception of the inferior magic power is also the exact opposite of mine.
“So if it’s at least the Fire Spear, I’m sure Marise already can create 2 copies attached with tracking feature at the same time too”
“Is, is that true?”
“Yeah. The Skeleton King fight may have been a bit of a rush, but if you take your time…Oh! The monsters appeared in just the right time and place”
There were two monster bats appeared in front of us.
It is also known as the ‘vampire bat’, which is not a very strong monster.
“Marise, I’ll hold off the bats, so don’t panic and form the magic formula. You can unleash it whenever you are ready”
“I understand!”
That’s a good answer.
I drew my sword and jumped in front of the bats.
The bats aimed for my neck, trying to suck my blood.
“So slow”
I deliberately avoided them by a hair’s breadth.
I also pretended to attack them with my sword.
That’s why the bats only target me.
“It’s done!”
As I was easily dodging the bats’ attacks, Marise’s voice came from the back.
“Good! Unleash it now!”
At that moment.
Two Fire Spears flew past my side and headed for the bats.
The bats are weak, but they are highly agile monsters.
Despite being caught off guard, the two bats still tried to avoid the Fire Spears.
But…the Fire Spears which were heading straight ahead quickly changed direction and pierced the bats.
“I did it!”
Marise jumped to express her joy.
The bats which were hit by the Fire Spear, fell to the ground with a flutter like paper.
“See? If you do it calmly, even Marise could do it, right?”
“Kurt was right! Thank you very much!”
“………, hey…!”
Marise grabbed my hands happily and made small jumps.
The Marise that I know are always so proud of herself, so seeing her like this kind of confuses me.
“Ah, I’m, I’m sorry! I got a bit excited with what I did…”
Marise blushed and let go of my hands.
We could have stayed like this for a while though…wait…what am I saying?
“Flirting around is prohibited!!”
“I didn’t do that”
For some reason, Lara puffed out her cheeks angrily.
“…Well back to the topic, so this is what I meant. From now on, we should be aware of our own suitability based on the magic color”
““Yes!””
Both of them strongly replied.
As for me, I think the battle will become easier if both of them become stronger.
What else can I teach them? While thinking about it, we went deeper into the cave.
The deeper we went, the thicker the magic elements became.
I see…perhaps no one has ever explored the Payago cave thoroughly.
I think that’s why the Skeleton King would periodically comes out from the depths.
“Speaking of which, I had a question”
“What is it?”
“I was wondering if Kurt could just break the walls and the ground of the cave and move on in a second”
“Lara. There’s no way that can be done. After all, the walls of the dungeon, including the labyrinth, are something that can’t be destroyed”
“Yeah, you’re right~”
Marise denied what Lara had said.
But.
“I can do it”
““Eh!?””
They are both surprised to hear that.
“I think I’ve seen this pattern before too…”
I continued without replying to Marise’s murmuring.
“The walls and the ground can be destroyed. But if you do that carelessly, the entire dungeon could collapse. Except maybe in a pinch, but basically, you can’t do something so risky”
Besides, even though the dungeons may have the threats of monsters, but they were regarded as ‘resources’ in 1000 years ago.
The items and monsters taken from the dungeons could be exchanged for a high price.
I think it’s not a good idea to break the walls or the ground just to capture it quickly.
“Moreover, you will be wasting your magic too. If you don’t excavate immediately, it will be restored by the magic elements…there’s no need to do such a risky thing here”
“It is not a matter of being risky or not…aah, my common sense…”
Marise lamented.
At any rate, let’s move on.
We descended the stairs and walked into the lower layer.
“Hmm, this is…!”

Chapter 40 – Because The Frequency Of Its Magic Power Was Different From That Of Human
“Wah! It’s a monster!”
“Kurt, what’s going on?”
Lara and Marise both called out at the same time at the fallen man……or rather the monster that revealed itself.
“This is a monster called Mimicrydoll”
“Mimicrydoll…?”
“Even Marise didn’t know about it?”
The Mimicrydoll is a monster that can transform into another person.
It’s almost impossible to tell the difference by just looking at them because they look exactly like a copy of the person they imitated.
“And yet how did you know that?”
“Well. The frequency of its magic power was obviously different from that of a human. The monster…or rather, only Mimicrydoll could transform like this…so I was able to figure it out quickly”
“The magic frequency…you can know something like that?”
“Marise can do it too if practiced”
“And…how quickly was it for you to figure it out?
“I said it before, right? From the very beginning”
Since he came to the guild.
It was obvious to me, but I intentionally took him up on his offer.
I was curious about the Immortal King too.
But there was also the possibility that this guy was lying…so I thought it would be interesting.
“To begin with, when we said we were going. This guy didn’t object or do anything, did he?”
“Ah”
“What are you trying to say, Kurt~? Looks like Marise-chan had noticed something too~”
The intelligent Marise seems to have noticed the meaning behind my words.
That’s right.
It is strange to ask for help from children of other country who aren’t even famous.
Probably because he was in a hurry, so he didn’t seem to know we defeated the Hydra.
Normally, one would object, saying, “Children? You guys are useless to me!”, right?
But.
“This guy guided us normally. Mimicrydoll is a mischievous monster. I guess it wanted to further disrupt the situation by bringing in children who were obviously not going to be a good fit. And take advantage of the opening……”
The Mimicrydoll died after pierced by the Fire Spear.
Although it was in a human form, but it looked like a withered tree now.
And there’s a dagger in its right hand.
“…It must be planning to use that dagger to stab us when we let our guard down after defeating the Skeleton King. Though that foolish action ended up getting itself killed”
“Oh my…then if Kurt hadn’t noticed…”
“Yeah. Maybe not all of them, but one or two of them could have been killed by this guy”
Mimicrydoll fighting ability is low.
But by the standards of the adventurers in this declining world, I think it could be categorized as a pretty strong monster.
If it was Lara or Marise, I think they could beat one without difficulty.
“Even so, it’s disappointing”
“Kurt. What’s the matter?”
Lara stared at me in wonder.
The Mimicrydoll from 1000 years ago, will even change the frequency of their magic.
There were also some troublesome Mimicrydoll that could disguise their magic color.
Then it would be difficult even for me to tell them apart.
This is the first time I’ve seen a Mimicrydoll in this world.
So I wondered, “What are they up to?” and took the bait on purpose……but it turned out to be a disappointment.
“Whoa…I didn’t know such a monster existed!”
“Mimicrydoll? I’ve never heard of it before”
“Since there’s always different adventurers, so I didn’t really care if I didn’t know any of them…but I didn’t expect this to happen”
“I was desperate for a fight with the Skeleton King”
The adventurers around us started making a lot of noise.
“B, but! We defeated the Skeleton King!”
“What are you talking about? We didn’t do anything, right?”
“Don’t worry about the details”
“Let’s get back to the guild!”
“The Skeleton King body is yours, of course! It should be able to fetch a good price!”
Hmm.
After the battle, everyone seems to have let their guard down.
But in response to that,
“Please return without us. We will continue a little further into the cave”
I said.
“What do you mean?”
“I can feel the presence of a stronger monster coming from deep within the cave”
“W, what did you say? Is that true?”
“Yes”
“How do you know that?”
“Detection magic…ahh, because I was expanding my magic to grasp the terrain and monsters etc. throughout the cave”
If I’m not wrong……it’s probably a demon type monster?
It seems to be trying to erase its ‘Qi’, so I can’t be sure.
Even though it’s far from here, I am interested in the monster that I can’t completely grasp with my detection magic.
If the worst happens and it becomes dangerous, I guess I can just use transfer magic to escape.
“Muu…is that so? But still, detection magic? That’s very convenient. As expected of a mage”
“Hmm, well, anyone can do it if practiced”
The pursuit of range and accuracy is another story, but the detection magic itself is not that difficult, after all.
“……I feel like Kurt’s use of ‘anyone’ means something different than we do”
“Lara, what a coincidence. I was thinking the same too”
Lara and Marise stared at me with reproachful eyes.
I cleared my throat and,
“It may become a little troublesome if I leave it as it is. So I’m going deeper into the cave. Does Lara and Marise want to come too?”
“Of course I do”
“I can’t just leave you and go back to the town alone!”
“You guys sure are reliable”
This is the truth.
Lately, their power has been growing rapidly.
I can grasp what’s in the depths with my detection magic, but even so, unforeseen circumstances can occur.
It is definitely reassuring to have companions at that time.
“P, please wait! I’m coming with you too! I can’t just have the children to do something so dangerous all by themselves! It’s true that strong monsters are scary, but…”
cried one of the adventurers.
“Hmm……”
I crossed my arms and thought about it.
This is troubling…….
I’m glad he feels that way, but unfortunately, he is not strong enough.
If I were to say it in an inappropriate way, he will be ‘a burden’.
I just want to say no, but….
“It’s okay. We’ll just go by ourselves”
“B, but!
“Ah, and that was not the only reaction I’m getting too”
“Eh?”
“There’s also the Skeleton King’s reaction coming from within the depths”
“You mean the Immortal King?”
This is not just a lie to turn him down, but the truth.
The guild’s staff member had said that the Skeleton King ‘comes out regularly’.
If that’s the case, the Skeleton King lurking in the depths of the cave would occasionally appear in front of humans……I guess.
“And there are five…no, six of them”
“S, six of them, you say? Even though it was hard to take down just one of them…”
“So, what do you want to do? It may be a little dangerous, but does anyone want to follow us?”
None of the adventurers raised their hands in response to my question.

Chapter 39 – The Immortal King
“What’s going on?”
The staff member asked the man who suddenly appeared.
“There’s a Payago Cave near the city, right? The monster…‘Immortal King’ has appeared there!”
“W, what did you say?”
“Currently, there are adventurers dealing with it……but it will be too much for them! Somebody, please help!”
Apparently, it seems to be an emergency.
“Um…is that monster, the Immortal King, strong?”
“It is a monster that regularly appears in the Payago Cave. When it appeared 20 years ago, it was recorded that 16 adventurers were killed during the quest. To appear at a time like this…”
I see.
According to the adventurers and the guild’s staff member, the Immortal King seems to be a very powerful monster.
The problem is that, other than its name, I don’t know what kind of monster it is.
“That’s right…you guys! Just right! Can you help us?”
said the man, turning to us.
–Ah, I see.
This guy….
“Hey, Kurt”
As I was thinking, Lara pulled the hem of my clothes.
“What’s wrong?”
“Let’s go. Let’s help them”
“Of course”
Either way, I’m also curious about the monster called the Immortal King.
The option of ‘not going’ was not in me.
I looked at Marise as well, and she nodded with a serious face.
“Alright……I understand. Please lead us there”
“T, thank you……!”
I could feel my heart beating faster.
We hurriedly left the guild and headed for the Payago Cave.
◆ ◆
When we arrived at the Payago Cave, where the Immortal King is said to have appeared.
“What the heck…”
Seeing the Immortal King, I was astonished and let out my voice.
“A mere Skeleton King is called the Immortal King?”
1000 years ago, the Skeleton King was a monster that F-ranked adventurers enjoyed hunting…that’s the kind of level it is.
I was excited to see what kind of strong monster it is, but I was disappointed.
“Reinforcement? We’re saved!”
“But a child…? Were they the only ones in the guild!?”
The adventurers turn to us.
It is a party of about ten people.
They had wounds all over their bodies.
“This guy…no matter how many times we attacked, he’ll still come back to life!”
One of the adventurers shouted as he looked at the Skeleton King.
Obviously.
The Skeleton King is a monster that can be resurrected repeatedly if you don’t attack it with magic.
However, it seems that none of the adventurers can use magic.
No matter how much they swing their sword, the Skeleton King will just continue to come back to life and can never be defeated.
The Skeleton King doesn’t have much offensive power to begin with.
But…for those who can’t use magic, since the Skeleton King can come back to life indefinitely, their stamina will run out and be killed.
I guess that’s why they were able to hold out until we came but couldn’t even scratch it.
“Kurt, they’re in trouble! Let’s hurry up and join them!”
“It looks strong, but we can’t let it escape!”
“Hmm, ah, yeah……”
“Why are you so disappointed, Kurt!”
Because it’s a skeleton king?
This was a ‘trash monster’ that would have been easily defeated with magic if it is 1000 years ago, after all?
…well, that doesn’t mean I can just return.
“Lara, Marise. Since it’s a good opportunity, shall we try something like cooperation?”
“O, okay”
“I’ll do my best not to drag you down!”
“Alright then, like what I taught you in the Llobeza Forest…”
I tell them the details of the strategy.
“I’m counting on both of you!”
“Yeah!”
“Yes!”
That’s a good reply.
I pull my sword out of its scabbard and make my way to the Skeleton King.
The Skeleton King was about to mow down the adventurers with the sword in its hand.
But at the same time, the Fire Spear that Lara shot pierced the Skeleton King.
“Guooooo!”
The Skeleton King screamed in pain.
“Good, that’s it. Lara!”
But was it a little weak?
Slowly, the Skeleton King looked at us.
……it’s a success.
I didn’t think of taking it down with that one shot.
I just wanted to draw its attention to us.
As the Skeleton King swing its sword, I parried it with just one hand.
“Marise! I’m counting on you!”
“Y, yes!”
The Fire Spear was released from Marise’s hand.
It’s happening in my blind spot…but I can sense it with the detection magic.
The Skeleton King got away from me to avoid the Fire Spear.
But…the Fire Spear that Marise shot, changed direction and followed its target.
“Pierce it!”
Marise shouted.
*Dogoooooooon!*
It was a splendid direct hit on the Skeleton King.
But…perhaps because she was focusing on adding the tracking function, it didn’t have much power.
“That’s enough”
The opponent was frightened for a moment and lost his balance.
I didn’t intend to miss that opportunity, so I charged my sword with magic and slashed the opponent.
Of course, [Sharpness] and [Magic Attack] were granted.
If it’s a sword that has been granted with magic, then it can defeat the Skeleton King.
A flash.
The bones that made up the body fell apart and the Skeleton King stopped moving.
“Whoa……! The Immortal King has been defeated!”
“Moreover, they’re just children? What the hell is going on?”
Seeing this, the cave suddenly became lively.
“Haa……”
“Kurt. Why are you so depressed?”
Because I came here thinking it could be a strong monster, but it was just a Skeleton King.
I let out a sigh and put my sword back in its scabbard.
“H, hey! Where did you adventurers came from? I’ve never seen you guys in Sifrea before, but…”
One of the adventurers ran up to us and asked a question.
“We are from the Royal Capital”
“The Royal Capital, huh? Just as I thought, there are remarkable adventurers in the Royal Capital!”
“No….we are not really adventurers”
“Eh?”
“We are a student at the Magic Academy”
Then I showed him my student ID card.
“A, a student, you say? Are you saying that a student has defeated the Immortal King?”
Looking at the student ID card, the adventurer became even more surprised.
“It’s not that big of a deal. Because if you can use magic, this is an opponent that you can even defeat on your own”
“No way! Besides, isn’t magic only available to a few talented people? There’s no way I can use it….”
The adventurer had his shoulders sagged.
Well…for the time being, the monster has been defeated.
Since the Skeleton King was defeated, someone has been leaking bloodlust.
“What’s the matter, Kurt?”
Without answering Lara’s question, I started walking towards that guy.
“Hmm……oh? What is it?”
This was the same adventurer who had led us here.
“I can let you off the hook this time, you know?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re up to something, aren’t you?”
“What the fuck are you talking about? I didn’t do anything—”
“……Hmph”
As he was about to say something, I shot a Fire Spear at close range and pierced that guy’s chest.
“H, hey, Kurt!”
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Both of them rushed over to me in a hurry.
But…
“H, how did you know…”
“Eh?”
Lara widened her eyes with surprise at the sight of it.
The man who was pierced in the chest by my magic.
For his appearance has gradually changed and become a monster that does not resemble a human at all.
“I know since the beginning”
He let out a sigh.
Just like that, the monster’s body slowly fell to the ground.

Chapter 38 – It Looks Like I Saved The City Without Even Knowing It
After that, we headed for the neutral city of Sifrea.
Unfortunately, nothing particularly interesting has happened since then.
Perhaps it was because we had crossed the Llobeza Forest.
So we was able to arrive at the neutral city one day ahead of schedule.
“Thanks to Kurt, we have more time to spare”
said Erika-sensei as she stretched out, after arriving at the prepared inn.
“The conference with the Empire’s Disaria Magic Academy is in three days, right?”
“That’s right”
“Can I just walk around the town for a bit?”
“Of course”
It’s boring to sleep at the inn for three days without doing anything.
“If Kurt is going, then I will follow too!”
“I’m, I’m coming with you too. Lara, no running off!”
“Hmm……I thought I could go on a date with Kurt……”
Lara and Marise clung to my sides.
“Do what you want”
Either way, it won’t change what I’m going to do.
We left the inn and headed for the Adventurer Guild in the neutral city of Sifrea.
I was wondering if there’s any interesting talks……and to exchange the Hydra I had defeated for cash while doing that.
Fortunately, the guild was located in the middle of the city and we were able to reach it easily.
“Let’s go in right away”
“Wait. Marise”
I stopped Marise who were trying to enter the guild casually.
“What’s the matter?”
“Guilds are basically a bunch of nasty—oh, well”
“?”
It reminded me of the guild in the Royal Capital.
As far as I can see……it seems the guilds of this world are not so brutal.
I used my detection magic, but it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone inside who have murderous intent or are deploying magic.
1000 years ago, some people would set explosion in the guild if they had the chance.
At the same time as the decline of the magic civilization, the world has become peaceful.
I walked to the table in the back after entering the guild,
“Nice to meet you. What can I do for you today?”
The beautiful receptionist smiled at us.
“Actually……we came from the Royal Capital and we’re here to exchange monster for cash……but do we have to start with the creation of the license?”
While thinking it’s a bit of a hassle, I asked the question.
“Excuse me, but have you registered as an adventurer in the Royal Capital?”
“Yes”
If I remember correctly, the school’s student ID card can be used as the license.
“If that’s the case, then it’s fine. We have an agreement with the guild in the Royal Capital, so you don’t have to create a new one, because the license over there will be sufficient”
Good to hear that.
Since I don’t want to waste time.
“But you said you came from the Royal Capital……were you all right?”
“Why’s that?”
“A ferocious monster has appeared near our city right now. We’ve sent several adventurers, but they said it’s a <disaster-class>, so they couldn’t subdue it”
“Oh really?”
That pique my interest.
I’d like to fight it.
“Well anyway, can you show me the monster? And has it been dismantled? It doesn’t look like you’re bringing it with you……”
“Yeah. It has been dismantled. But I just cut it up to a suitable size”
“Heehh? For now, please show it to me”
I placed the Hydra’s head which was stored by storage magic on the reception table.
Thinking it’s a hassle, so I didn’t drain the blood properly.
That’s why it’s bloody.
But if it’s the guild, blood is so common that they shouldn’t be surprised now.
I thought so.
“…………”
“Excuse me, receptionist-san?”
“Kurt. It looks like the receptionist has passed out while standing still”
Marise poked at the receptionist.
But there wasn’t any response.
With a pale face, the receptionist was about to fall backwards, so I hurriedly reached out my hand.
And that’s when everyone realized.
“Wow! What the hell is this bloody thing!”
“It’s different if you are an adventurer, but if it’s the receptionist, of course she would be surprised to see this! Bring it back after you’ve properly drained it’s blood!”
They scolded.
“This is unexpected”
“Their reactions are understandable”
“It can’t be helped”
While I wasn’t convinced, Marise and Lara nodded in agreement.
But on the other hand, I couldn’t hide my surprise.
The receptionist isn’t used to seeing blood……?
1000 years ago, I would often see adventurers fighting and having their arms cut off in the guild.
It seems the guilds in this world are much more peaceful than I expected.
“Hmm……? I couldn’t see it well because of the blood, but this head……I think I’ve seen it somewhere before……?”
“Wow! Could this be the Hydra!”
But when they saw the Hydra’s head that I brought, the guild became noisy.
“W, where did you get this?”
“We took it down on the way from the Royal Capital”
“On, on the way……”
The guild’s staff member who came in place of the receptionist was dumbfounded.
“This isn’t all of it, shall I take out the remaining of it? But the blood has yet to be drained, so the table is going to get dirty……”
“I don’t care if it gets dirty or not! Good job!”
“Yes?”
The guild’s staff member shook my hands.
What’s going on?
Her eyes were sparkling, and she looked excited…….
“This Hydra is the ferocious monster that has recently appeared near this city! Everyone was standing by and doing nothing……but I didn’t expect the adventurers of the Royal Capital would defeat it!”
“Eh……? Is this it?”
“We were even talking about how the Hydra would come into the town if we stayed like this! I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. Thank you very much, truly……!”
Apparently, I saved the city without even knowing it.
“I thought so~”
“After all, there’s not many <disaster-class> monsters”
Lara and Marise seemed to be getting used to it.
Probably because they have been with me for a long time.
While looking at the state of the guild, I took out the Hydra’s head……and its body in turns.
The storage magic surprised them again, but it was almost the same as when it happened in the Royal Capital.
After the case that time, I didn’t say “It’s a normal magic”, but just watched in silence instead.
“Umm, roughly how much will it be?”
“There was a bounty of 800 gold coins on the Hydra! Initially, we had expected to defeat it with a party of 50 people……but we never thought that it would be defeated by just 3 people!”
800 gold coins, huh…….
I noticed it during the case with the Behemoth, it seems like I really won’t have any trouble with money in this world.
“I’m glad. Lara, Marise. Shall we split the money?”
“I, I can’t accept that!”
“She’s right! Besides, isn’t Kurt the one that took it down? It was not the 3 of us!”
They turned down my offer.
I don’t need this much though.
Well, that’s fine.
Shall I use this to fund the creation of more powerful weapons in the future?
While I was waiting for the assessment to be finished in the guild……
“H, help!”
A man who appears to be out of breath suddenly came into the guild and shouted.

Chapter 37 – We Entered The Degree Of Risk ‘A’ Forest
After using storage magic on the Hydra, we then set off again.
Probably about three hours later.
“Oh?”
“What’s wrong, Kurt?”
Lara stared in wonder.
“I have a bad feeling about this again…”
As for Marise, she has a sour expression.
“No, this time it’s a good one. There’s an interesting reaction”
“Interesting?”
“Yeah. There’s a magical reaction a little further down the road”
“Does that mean……an enemy?”
Lara’s expression stiffened.
But this….
“There’s no biological reaction coming from it. It’s probably an item that contains a large amount of magical powers. It will become clearer if we get a little closer to it……”
“By the way Kurt, how long will it take to get there, to your ‘a little further down the road’?”
“About two hours”
“……the range of your detection magic is as unreasonable as ever”
Marise sighed.
Everyone would be surprised if something like a Hydra appeared again, so I further expanded the range.
If I tell them earlier that there is a sign of a monster……they should be less surprised. Probably.
“Wait a minute. Two hours away from here is……”
Marise turned pale as she unfolded the map.
“There’s the Llobeza Forest!”
“You know it?”
“It’s a very famous forest that was designated as having a risk of ‘A-rank’. Maybe……the item that contains a large amount of magic power is there, isn’t it?
“I feel the same as you”
Lara agreed with Marise.
Lara has a sharp sense.
That means the item seems to be in the said forest.
And two hours later.
“Oh, there’s a reaction coming from inside the forest”
“I knew it was the Llobeza Forest!”
Marise cried out in the carriage.
Then I stopped the carriage and consulted with Erika-sensei and the headmaster.
“……so with that said, how about we enter the forest? Looking at the map, I think it could be a shortcut too……”
“Indeed. If we cross the forest, we’ll reach the neutral city a day early”
“It’s all good, isn’t it?”
“But……! It’s the Llobeza Forest we are talking about here though? Because Kurt is the only person who would ever think of crossing that kind of place, right? And our safety can’t be ensured! So, I disagree!”
Erika-sensei gave me a sharp gaze.
She was right, there’s also a sense of ominous magic power coming from the Llobeza Forest.
There are probably some monsters that are a little stronger than the wolf and slime.
But……to me, they were so weak.
I wonder why it was considered to be dangerous….
But on the other hand, I agree with what Erika-sensei said about the safety.
“If that’s the case, when the time comes, let’s use the transfer magic to escape”
“Kurt, are you saying you will be running away alone?”
“Of course not. I’ll bring the whole carriage back to the starting point here. It uses a lot of magic, so I really don’t like it……but if it’s dangerous, then it is unavoidable”
“……are you really a student……”
Erika-sensei let out a deep sigh.
“If you don’t mind, shall I just enter this forest alone and head to the neutral city? Erika-sensei and the others can take the regular route”
“No, it’s more dangerous to separate from Kurt. I trust Kurt, so do as you like. Is that okay with the headmaster?”
The headmaster silently nodded.
Good.
The teachers were convinced, so let’s enter the forest at once.
The carriages entered the forest and travel a little faster.
“Won’t the monsters come out?”
“You’re right……it seems like the detection magic is getting some reactions”
Lara and Marise looked puzzled.
But.
“You two mustn’t let your guard down. The monster is following us. It could attack us at any time”
“Eh! Us?”
“And there’s more than one”
They are trying to remove their presence.
I guess it’s no wonder both of them can’t notice it with their detection magic.
“Tell me such an important thing earlier!”
“S, sorry”
“How many are there?”
“Just 100”
“Hya, 100!”
They hugged each other and voiced out.
The carriage was brought to a halt, and as we stepped outside, some of the monsters, the Evil Monkey, emerged from the grass and the trees.
“I’m sure Lara and Marise could do this too. Let’s review what you two had learnt so far. That’s right……a quest, this will be a quest for you two to take down 100 Evil Monkeys! Erika-sensei and the headmaster, please stay in the carriage”
“That’s an unreasonable request!”
“Lara, we have no choice but to do it!”
As Lara and Marise deployed their magic formula, the Evil Monkeys attacked them together.
“Wow! There’s a lot of them!”
“But as Kurt said, I think we can manage”
As they unleashed their magic, the Evil Monkeys were defeated one by one.
Although there are many of them, each Evil Monkey is probably only a little bit stronger than a wolf.
Even so, I was impressed by their growth, to be able to deal with the situation calmly.
“Haa, haa……is it all right now”
“No. They are just waiting for the chance”
Both of them are standing back to back and breathing heavily.
Yeah. Marise is alert.
“You guys are doing great. But there were a little too many wasted magic attacks. If you could just add this to the magic formula……”
In a moment’s pause in the fight, I gave them a word of advice.
But there wasn’t much time to spare.
“Here they come!”
The Evil Monkeys scattered and attacked them again.
“Just right. Let me show you how it works. You two stay back”
I faced the Evil Monkeys.
The deployed magic formula is……Fire Spear.
However, there are about 30 Evil Monkeys left.
So I shot 30 Fire Spears at them at the same time.
The Fire Spear tracks and hits the Evil Monkey as if it had its own will.
There was also an Evil Monkey trying to escape, but a Fire Spear pierced its back.
“What do you think of it. This is how you add tracking to magic. This way, it should be easier to hit the target with magic and avoid wasting your magic power”
““…………””
Hmm?
They are kind of frozen.
“Was it a little difficult?”
“Um……no, I don’t think it is that hard to add tracking but……”
“Looking at Kurt, I don’t think I can create that many and make them as precise at the same time……”
Lara and Marise had their shoulders sagged.
Have they lost their confidence?
But they don’t need to worry about it.
“It’s okay. With some practices, both of you should be able to do this with ease. If it is to make 100 copies at the same time, I think it will take 3 years……”
“1, 100 copies! That’s absurd!”
“It’s not something a human can do”
What are you talking about?
In my past life, my best record was 936 copies.
If it’s the current me who don’t have enough magic power, then I think half of that will be the limit.
“Well, at any rate the monsters were defeated, so let’s move on. And it seems like we’re almost reaching the said item”
We got into the carriage and moved on again.
A little later….
“Oh, this is it”
I found some glowing medicinal herbs growing at the base of the trees.
“Waa, they’re beautiful!”
“What on earth are these…?”
“They are Izunia medicinal herbs”
I never thought I’d see it in this world.
I picked up a bunch of Izunia medicinal herbs.
The Izunia medicinal herbs have been absorbing the magical powers from the Earth’s veins over the years.
This……if I were to guess, it would be 400 years old.
For example, a high quality potion could be made from an Izunia medicinal herb.
And this forest is apparently dangerous, moreover, the Izunia medicinal herbs are growing a little off from the road.
In a world where detection magic isn’t common, I guess no one has ever been able to find it.
“I’m sorry for making a stop. Now that I have got what I wanted, so let’s get going”

Chapter 36 – I Fought The ‘Disaster Class’ For Exercising
The neutral city of Sifrea, where the conference with the Empire will be held, is said to be a five days carriage ride from the Royal Capital.
So, we decided to leave one week earlier with time to spare.
By the way……it is treated as an official absence during this period.
Since Lara and Marise were also allowed to tag along, so there are five of us going to the neutral city of Sifrea. Me, Lara, Marise, the headmaster……and Erika-sensei, a witness to the <Four Great Sages> battle.
Incidentally, Desmond was supposed to go there as well, but because he wasn’t suitable for a conference in the first place, so he ended up staying at the school instead.
It seems that he lost his cool on the other day’s conference and punched a hole in the wall, or so I was told.
……yeah. When I heard that, it seemed inevitable that Desmond would stay at the school.
“Well then, shall we head out”
We gathered at the gateway of the Royal Capital early in the morning.
There were two fine looking carriages.
It seems that we are going to the neutral city using those carriages.
“A carriage huh……I took it when I came to the Royal Capital from my hometown”
“If it’s Kurt, I’m sure he can get to the neutral city in an instant if he used the transfer magic and such~”
Lara said it while having her hands placed around the back of her head.
“Lara. Even if it’s Kurt, there’s no way he can use the transfer magic. It’s a lost magic that is said to have been used by the Gods of the mythological era……”
“I suppose so. I’ve only seen it in the fiction myself. It was just a joke, a joke~”
“I can use it”
““Eh!?””
Lara and Marise were very surprised.
“T, then! Why don’t you use it to get there!”
“Still, transfer magic has many flaws. It can only be used after you’ve been to the place for at least once”
Even 1000 years ago, transfer magic has high difficulty.
Moreover, if it is activated to travel over a long distance.
And you won’t know what’s at the transfer destination.
There could be a threat to life.
So it is not a good idea to indiscriminately use the transfer magic.
“……something like that. Therefore, I think it’s best to travel by the carriage”
“As usual, Kurt uses the lost magic like he breathes……”
“I’m starting to see Kurt as a character who came out of a book”
As I explained, Lara and Marise were amazed.
If they were in the world 1000 years ago, I guess they would be so surprised that their hearts would burst.
“There are monsters outside the city, so don’t ever let your guard down”
said the headmaster.
“Headmaster……with all due respect, I think Kurt alone can deal with most of the monsters”
“I agree with you, but it is still important to keep that in mind”
Erika-sensei interrupted, and the headmaster seemed to agree with her too.
At any rate, we departed from the Royal Capital.
Me, Lara and Marise are in the same carriage. The headmaster and Erika-sensei will be riding in the other carriage.
To be swayed in the carriage and looking at the surrounding scenery while it moves slowly, I have not disliked it since 1000 years ago.
About three days have passed since we left the Royal Capital.
“Hmm……? There’s a monster’s reaction in the distance”
I’ve been deploying a wide range of detection magic at all times……but it looks like the big one is finally hooked.
“Monster? Is it so strong that Kurt went out of his way to say it?”
“Not really”
Up to this point, there were wolves, slime, and all sorts of other monsters that can be seen on the road.
But……this one is a rare monster.
Although it’s weak.
“How far ahead?”
Marise asked.
“Hmm……if we keep this up, we are likely to reach the spot in an hour”
“An hour later? How can you know that far ahead?”
“Hmm? Didn’t I teach Lara and Marise how to use the detection magic? You should be able to do at least this much”
“Ours are at most 5 meters in radius from ourselves!”
Marise pointed out.
“Then should I tell the driver to take a different road?”
Lara looked worried and tried to get up.
“No……if it is just a monster this weak, that wouldn’t be necessary. If we were to take a different road, that would only lengthen the time. Besides, my body is growing dull, and I want to fight it too”
“Well, if Kurt says so……”
“A weak monster huh……I have a bad feeling about this”
Then it has been decided.
The carriage continued on its way as planned, and after about an hour….
“Isn’t that a Hydra!”
Marise looked up at the huge snake and exclaimed, after she got out of the carriage.
“Yeah, it’s a Hydra”
“Isn’t that a <disaster-class> monster! Kurt’s words are still unreliable as ever. If you knew it was a hydra, then please say it!”
I was scolded by Marise.
We……Lara, and, Erika-sensei and the headmaster on the other carriage also got out from the carriage.
“Damn……! It’s unlucky to run into a <disaster-class> monster in such a place! I’ll hold it back here! So all of you should get away from here quickly……”
“Erika-sensei. That won’t be necessary”
“Kurt! Don’t approach it carelessly”
Ignoring Erika-sensei’s words, I approached the Hydra.
As expected, the Hydra noticed when I got closer to it. It is now approaching us at great speed.
The Hydra is a snake-like monster with nine heads.
It can regenerate quickly even if one cut its head off, so it’s necessary to kill it in the fastest possible way….
“Hmm……that’s it”
I was deciding how should I kill it when the Hydra is coming at us.
Such a daredevil.
1000 years ago, the monsters would have run away when they saw me, so I’m glad to see such a fool.
I formed a magic formula and activated the Meteor Bomb.
Meteor bomb is a fire attribute magic that attacks the opponent by creating multiple explosions.
The explosions occur around the Hydra and spread in a chain reaction.
Eventually……after the explosions stopped, there was nothing left but the body of the Hydra, which had been charred black.
*Sigh*
“So this is it huh”
I dusted off my hands.
“Erika-sensei, it has been defeated, so it should be fine now”
“W, whoa……a <disaster-class> monster…in a matter of seconds…? What had I just witnessed?”
Hmm?
I wonder if she got caught up by the explosions from earlier?
Erika-sensei is staggering with her hands on her head.
That’s weird……I’ve placed a barrier around Erika-sensei, so I think she should be fine but….
“Hydra is so easy to be finished off”
“Lara. Don’t get it wrong. It can be done because it’s Kurt, right? After all, only Kurt would call a <disaster-class> monster weak”
Lara was poking at the charred black Hydra and Marise watched it from behind.
“Kurt……what was that magic you used earlier?”
“It’s a magic called Meteor Bomb. I used it because it looks flashy and wakes me up, but it’s really inconvenient. I have to set up a barrier around me so that I don’t get caught up in it……”
“Calling a magic that had defeated the Hydra with one blow as ‘inconvenient’……that’s really you……”
For some reason, Marise let out a sigh of dismay.

Chapter 35 – It Seems That I Hate The Empire Very Much Too
“A problem…? What could it be?”
The headmaster asked.
While thinking of the Empire that I knew from my past life, I answered.
“I think this alone will only give the Empire an excuse”
“Wha…! Even with all this evidence?”
“Yeah. Looking at headmaster and the teachers’ expressions, the magic I just used isn’t very common, isn’t it?”
They nodded in silence at my question.
“If that’s the case, then surely the Empire would say something like, ‘This stuff is fake. Isn’t that the magic of being able to create footage the way you want them to be?’”
Without a doubt, the Empire did used the surveillance magical device which is a super technology and even Arnold had used the lost magic.
So surely they should know about the magic I just used.
However, I think the Empire is not that stupid as to say it.
“Damn……so what you are saying is that the Empire will still make excuses even if we show them these footages!? How shameless!”
“That’s so cowardly of them”
“But given the attitude of the Empire so far, it’s very likely that Kurt is right”
The headmaster, Erika-sensei and Desmond were equally angry.
I also think that the Empire is cowardly……but knowing the evil deeds that they did in my past life, I feel like this is not the end of it yet.
1000 years ago, despite having signed a peace treaty with the neighboring country, the Empire still invaded them in the middle of the night.
Be it a woman or a child, the Empire had killed them all.
While placing the edge of a sword to the King’s daughter’s neck, they said, “If this girl’s life is spared, then she will be a slave to the Empire for the rest of her life”, which is sickening.
But.
“……well at any rate, I’m sure it’ll work out somehow”
I spoke the truth.
The Empire in a world 1000 years later is cowardly too, but I felt that they have become weaker compared to how they once were in my past life.
I guess it’s not just the magic civilization that has declined, but their intellect too.
So I can’t help but feel like it will work out somehow.
“Is, Is that true?”
The headmaster leans forward from his desk.
“Yes”
In fact, this isn’t the only evidence that the Empire cheated.
“You’re much better than the teachers”
Erika-sensei murmured something.
“Headmaster. Why don’t you ask Kurt to do what we had originally planned?”
It looks like Desmond has a suggestion for the headmaster.
As originally planned?
What is it? I have a bad feeling again.
“Um……Kurt. Can you do me a favor?”
“It depends on what you’re asking”
Then the headmaster made up his mind.
“Please……! There will be a conference with the Empire in two weeks later, and I want Kurt to join us!”
“……are you being serious?”
I asked the headmaster, but he didn’t seem to be joking.
“I’m just a student, you know? Will it be okay for me to participate in the adults’ conference?”
“It’s fine. Besides, Kurt is not a guy who fits into the category of a student. Erika-sensei and Desmond-sensei also think so, right?”
And the headmaster looked at them.
“As a teacher, I feel frustrated……but no one can compete with the Empire better than Kurt. Can you help us?”
“I have a feeling you can handle it. To be honest, I’m not very good in dealing with a conference……”
Erika-sensei and Desmond seemed to agree too.
Oh jeez…….
But I don’t really like the Empire too.
I felt disgusted just by remembering the faces of the guys from the Empire.
Fine.
Apart from helping the headmaster and Erika-sensei…
If I meet those guys from the Empire again, I might get more clues to the ‘truth’ of this world.
“I understand. I’ll come with you”
“Thank you…!”
The headmaster bowed so low that his forehead almost touched the desk.
For a person in a higher position to bow in such a way……I think it’s very admirable.
“So…..will the conference be held here?”
“No, it will be held in the neutral city of Sifrea”
Well, I guess it wouldn’t be fair if the conference is held in the home base of either side.
Even so……I don’t feel like it will be a peaceful conference.
There’s likely to be a fight.
As for me, I’m more than happy to fight, so I welcome it.
“I’ll have Kurt to join us, but you don’t need to worry about the outcome. I can’t let a mere student to bear all the responsibilities”
“What are you talking about?”
I declared to the headmaster, with his pathetic resolve.
“We must win at all costs”
◆ ◆
The next day.
I told Lara and Marise about it in the classroom.
“……that’s what happened”
“Eeehhh! The Empire still can spout such nonsense despite cheating!”
It’s Lara who looked surprised.
She was the first girl I met after arriving in the Royal Capital, and although she looked natural, she had a surprisingly sharp intuition.
“I was expecting it to some extent”
said Marise with a composed expression.
She’s a girl who I had fought against in the magic school’s entrance exam, and she hates losing.
“Why’s that, Marise-chan?”
“They are the people who have done all those things, you know? It wouldn’t be a surprise if they said this much, right? Besides……there are a lot of bad rumors about the Empire”
“Bad rumors?”
“There seems to be no evidence of it, but apparently there are rumors that they did a lot of injustice”
Compared to Lara, Marise seems to be able to analyze relatively calmly.
“But……I can’t believe Kurt is going to participate in the conference with the Empire”
“It’s a scary place to be but I feel like Kurt can manage it”
“Me too”
Lara and Marise also seem to be worried about me……no, I don’t think so.
“So, it seems like I won’t be able to teach the both of you magic in two weeks later. That’s why I made an independent training menu……”
Just as I was saying that.
Lara suddenly brought herself so close to my face,
“I want to go too!”
“Huh?”
“I want to see how cool Kurt is! Besides……I can grow much better around Kurt than doing some self-training”
She said something outrageous.
“Lara! Th, that’s cheating! It’s like the Empire!”
“I’m not cheating. In that case, why don’t you come along too, Marise-chan?”
“I, I……don’t want to bother Kurt. Besides, it’s not like we might be allowed to tag along either……”
Good grief.
It’s going to be noisy again.
But Lara has a point.
And I have a feeling that the conference with the Empire won’t end in peace.
There will be a lot for both of them to learn there.
Moreover……unlike 1000 years ago, I don’t feel too bad about being with other people.
It’s more comfortable to be with children like Lara and Marise than with just adults like the headmaster and the teachers.
“I understand. Then I’ll inform the headmaster. I think it should be fine if I’m the one to request for it”
“Thank you, Kurt!”
“If Kurt thinks it’s good……t, then I will tag along too!”
“Of course, Marise”
So this is how Lara and Marise ended up coming along too.
T/N: Updates on every novel will be slowed due to assignments. Assignments that involved the calculations in Robot Kinematics etc. require lots of concentration and time, so I won’t be able to release new chapter as fast, not at least until I have settled them. Thanks for your kind understanding~

Chapter 34 – The Evidence That The Empire Was Cheating
<Author’s Note>
Arc 2 begins.
I reincarnated to a world 1000 years later in search of someone stronger than myself.
But……what I saw there was a world where the magic civilization had declined.
Even in such a world, I didn’t get discouraged and attended the magic school in the royal capital, but….
“You wanted to see me?”
On a certain day.
The teachers called me, so I walked to the headmaster’s office alone.
There’s the headmaster sitting on a chair, with the homeroom teacher, Erika-sensei, and the former S-ranked adventurer, Desmond standing on both sides.
While stroking his white beard, the headmaster slowly opened his mouth.
“Hmm. Thank you for coming”
“What do you want from me?”
“It’s actually about the friendly match on the other day……”
Oh, that.
It was a friendly match with the Empire.
I just wanted to have some fun……but the guys in the Empire cheated and I ended up fighting the <Four Great Sages>.
Naturally, I won……but I was disgusted by the cowardly Empire just as they were 1000 years ago.
“You did well in the friendly match. Thanks to Kurt, we were able to find out about the injustice of the Empire”
“No-no, it was thanks to everyone……but did you call me to say that?”
“That’s part of it……but the main subject is something else”
Something else?
What could it be…, I’m having a bad feeling about this.
“The Empire was actually cheating. Erika-sensei and Desmond-sensei, who were waiting inside the <Treasure Labyrinth> also witnessed it. According to Kurt, there is a possibility that the worst-case scenario could have been human death. This is a very serious matter”
“Of course”
“But……there’s one problem”
“The Empire doesn’t admit it, right?”
If I anticipate what he might say next,
“T, that’s right……”
And the headmaster looked stunned.
“How did you know?”
“Well……I had a hunch”
I scratched my cheek.
The cowardly Empire.
This is a fact that hasn’t changed since 1000 years ago.
No matter how many witnesses there were, such as Erika-sensei and Desmond, it was easy to imagine that the Empire would not admit it.
“What does the Empire say?”
I could have guessed, but I purposely asked.
“Let me explain”
Erika-sensei stepped forward.
“We pursued the Empire based on what we saw in the friendly match. So, what do you think they said?”
“There’s no evidence……I guess”
“A clever student like Kurt would be saved from explanation. Damn……those guys!”
Probably remembering what happened then, Erika-sensei gritted her teeth in frustration.
“They really are a bunch of assholes!”
Desmond couldn’t seem to hide his anger either.
Hmm.
That’s how the empire intends to get away with it.
Fortunately, there were no victims in the Royal Capital’s side.
If anything, my magic has even wounded the representatives of the Empire’s side.
It seems that Arnold of the <Four Great Sages>, who was destroyed by the Holiness Gate, is listed as missing.
As for the Empire, I guess they will be saying it’s a Kyogen by Erika-sensei and Desmond.
“Still, we’re firmly protesting”
Once again, the headmaster leaned his elbows on the desk and continued his speech.
“But……it’s also true that there is no evidence. We don’t have the right materials to pursue them yet. So……I thought Kurt might have some kind of wisdom”
“Me? I’m just a student, though?”
“After your overwhelming victory over the <Four Great Sages>, I think it would be too unreasonable to call you a ‘mere student’……”
Erika-sensei sighed.
Believe it or not, I’m a pacifist.
I want to attend the school like any other ordinary student…….
Is that too much to ask for?
“Well……but I do have some evidence”
“Is, is that true?”
The headmaster leaned forward.
“Yeah. Please take a look at this”
And I took something out of my pocket.
“This is……?”
“It’s a surveillance magical device”
During the friendly match, they tried to grasp our movements with this surveillance magical device.
Erika-sensei and Desmond looked closely at the surveillance magical device placed on the palm of my hand.
“It just looks like a squashed bug, isn’t it?”
“Because I crushed it whenever I see one. With this magic tool, all movements on the Royal Capital’s side were monitored by the Empire”
“Is, is that true!? But……I’ve never seen or heard of such a magic tool before?”
Erika-sensei gave me a surprised but skeptical look.
It seems that the magic tool that was used 1000 years ago, to deter crime is not common in this world too.
I used to see it in tool store and other places to prevent shoplifting and such.
It’s a technology beyond the current capabilities of this world.
“But……if it’s crushed, it can’t be used as evidence, can it? Kurt seems to know something, but we don’t know what it is. Won’t the Empire get away with it too?”
Desmond asked a question.
He has a point.
If it’s me, I could restore the broken surveillance magical device to its original state.
However, it’s not a common magic tool.
‘The Empire doesn’t use something like that! You guys are just making it up!’
I can imagine what the Empire would say.
“In that case, I still have other evidence”
“What’s that?”
“Can you make the room a little darker?”
I said. Then the window curtains were shut, and the room grew dim.
“Good……if it’s this wall, it should look clear on it”
The room was spacious.
I used projection magic on the pure white wall.
“Is, is this the scene……of the friendly match?”
“The footage is being played. What is the principle behind this?”
The headmaster, Erika-sensei and Desmond looked surprised when they saw the footage is being projected.
I can understand their reactions. The footage on the wall is showing the Empire’s representative starting the fight……and then it ended with the fight against the <Four Great Sages>.
“It’s a magic called Move Storage. I thought something like this might happen, so I was trying to capture the scene of the friendly match with this magic”
It just got to the point where Arnold was foolishly honest enough to admit that the Empire was cheating.
‘This is not your first time. At any rate, I guess you’ve done it many times before, right?’
‘Correct’
What an idiot.
I guess he didn’t even know that the footage was being recorded during the fight.
“H, how amazing……! With this, we can corner the Empire”
The headmaster trembled at the sight of the footage.
When Arnold was destroyed by the light, I stopped the projection magic.
“Ku, Kurt……are you saying that this kind of magic was activated during that fierce battle? How could you afford that?”
“As expected, Kurt is a man who doesn’t fit within the bounds of our common sense. For example, even if there was such magic, I didn’t expect it could save a footage this long……”
Erika-sensei and Desmond also looked confused.
I wish they wouldn’t be this surprised…….
Just in case, I saved all the footage from the beginning to the end of the friendly match.
It would surprise them more if I showed it, but it didn’t seem to be necessary right now, so I decided not to do it.
“But there’s still a little bit of a problem with this”

Chapter 33 – Something More Interesting
Later.
It was revealed that the Empire’s side was cheating, and it became a big deal.
As I thought, the Empire would not admit it, but still there were many witnesses such as Erika-sensei and Desmond, so I guess it’s going to be quite hard for them to get away with this.
“Well in any case, they were trying to kill us, the students……”
By the way.
Since then, the outcome of the friendly match has become undecided.
‘Now’s not the time for that!’
Something like that.
Oh well.
From now on, the Royal Capital will thoroughly condemn the Empire, and it will be good if the Empire gets into trouble as a result of it.
On the other hand, I…….
“Well……then. This is it huh. I don’t have much baggage to begin with”
Inside the dormitory’s room.
After cleaning up, I placed my hands on my waist and looked around.
“It was a short time”
That’s right.
I’m thinking of quitting the magic school here and investigate the mysteries of the Empire.
To be honest, I think there’s almost nothing I can learn in this school.
It doesn’t look like there’s anyone here who are stronger than me, which is what I’m looking for.
More than that, the decline of the magic in this world……I would like to investigate the ‘Truth’ that Arnold mentioned.
For that reason, I felt like I didn’t really need to be in this magic school.
”Even so……I didn’t know I was called the ‘Demon King’”
As Arnold had said.
There was a Demon King in this world 1000 years ago.
He said that the magic and theory of that Demon King, were so terrifying that the Empire worked hard to seal them away.
“It’s all a lie”
At the very least, I wasn’t called the ‘Demon King’ in my past life.
And while everyone was enjoying the convenience brought by the magic, they didn’t seem to be afraid of it.
Why would the Empire be spouting such lies?
Why the Empire that was destroyed by the Demon was restored again.
That’s where — the truth of the decline after 1000 years seems to be hidden.
”Well……I wonder what I should do first”
I murmured, and just as I was about to leave the room.
*Knock Knock*
Hmm?
The sound of knocking came from the door.
“It’s unlocked. You can come in”
I called out to the person on the other side of the door,
“Kurt! Don’t quit school!”
“I will not allow you to run away from me!”
Lara and Marise came rushing in from the corridor.
Moreover, they approached me so closely to the point of coming into contact, and it felt appealing to me.
“H, hey! What happened to you two all of a sudden!”
I could feel the softness of the two, and I couldn’t help but getting disordered.
“Because! Because……I had a feeling that Kurt is going to quit the school……”
“At first it was just a hunch from Lara……but after the friendly match was over, Kurt was always thinking about something the whole time. That’s why I got the feeling that you are really going to quit, so I became worried……”
They drew their faces close to mine while saying that.
……so, they are telling me that they had a hunch that I’m going to quit the magic school?
And here I am trying to prevent them from knowing it.
I give up.
I think I’ve said it before, but Lara’s intuition is really something not to be reckoned with.
But.
“Even If I were to quit, what does that have to do with Lara and Marise? Even if I’m gone, I’m sure the two of you will still be able to do fine at the magic school”
I tried asking the questions.
Then Lara’s face crumpled up.
“Ueeeeeeeeeeeee! Kurt is……! Kurt is saying such a thing!”
Ultimately, she started crying.
……hey hey.
What is this situation?
“Kurt! Even if it’s you, what you just said is too heartless! Please take it back now!”
Marise is pointing at me while yelling frantically.
……haa.
Well, this is getting out of control.
I let out a sigh and then,
“Sorry, sorry. But I’m not going to quit the magic school, both of you were too quick in jumping to a wrong conclusion”
““Eh?””
They voiced out at the same time.
“Is that true…?”
“Yeah, it’s true”
I shrugged my shoulders.
……I was really just about to leave the dormitory without telling them.
Well, that’s okay too.
It’s not like I can’t continue staying as a student, while also investigating the truth of the decline.
It’s just that when I looked at their faces, I suddenly became reluctant.
I don’t dislike the life of the magic school.
Balancing the school life and the after-school activities……it would be easy for me to do both even without getting serious.
“Besides……I still have a lot to teach the both of you”
“T, that’s right! I won’t allow you to just stop halfway on that!”
“What was the magic you used on the <Four Great Sages>? And what is……the <Demon King’s Magic>?”
Lara, who had been crying until a while ago, was already smiling.
Marise seemed to be in her usual tone but was sounded restless.
I can’t get serious in this declining world of 1000 years later.
But surprisingly, this declining world is not boring either.
As I was patting their heads, I began to think about the things that could happen from here onwards.
<Author’s Note>
This is the end of Arc 1.
I will do my best in Arc 2 too!
